How not to miss a flight in Warsaw

How to plan departure for Chopin or Modlin, allowing for luggage, check-in, traffic and a safe buffer.

Missing a flight usually starts with an overly optimistic road plan. Count pickup, traffic, finding the terminal entrance, baggage drop and security, not only driving time.

How much time to leave before departure

With checked luggage, aim to reach the terminal 2.5–3 hours before departure, then add realistic driving time and a 30–60 minute buffer. Modlin often needs more margin.

Check before leaving

  • The exact airport and terminal on the ticket.
  • Check-in and baggage-drop closing times.
  • Buffer for traffic, roadworks and weather.
  • Flight number and current airline status.

Do not mix up the airports

Chopin is in Warsaw, while Modlin is outside the city. Warsaw on the ticket does not mean the same transfer time.

When a transfer reduces risk

A transfer helps with early or night flights, families, luggage and trips from another city. The driver collects you at your address and drives directly to the terminal.
